INTRODUCTION
This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
It sets out the steps taken by Uniexpress Limited (“Uniexpress”, “we”, “our”) to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. Uniexpress has a zero-tolerance approach and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
OUR BUSINESS STRUCTURE
Uniexpress Limited is a UK-based logistics and freight forwarding company.
We operate within the transport and logistics sector and work with a network of suppliers and partners to deliver services both in the UK and internationally.
Our operations involve working with third-party providers across multiple jurisdictions, which can present varying levels of risk in relation to modern slavery.
OUR COMMITMENT
We’re committed to:
• Preventing modern slavery and human trafficking
• Ensuring transparency in our business and supply chains
• Acting with integrity in all commercial relationships
We expect these same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
POLICIES AND CONTROLS
We maintain several internal policies to support our commitment to preventing modern slavery, including:
• Whistleblowing Policy – encourages reporting concerns confidentially
• Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy – promotes ethical business conduct
• Code of Conduct – establishes standards of behaviour for all employees; and
• Anti-Harassment & Bullying Policy – ensures safe and respectful workplaces
These policies are communicated to all employees and are regularly reviewed.
SUPPLIER DUE DILIGENCE
We undertake due diligence when engaging with new suppliers and monitor existing suppliers on an ongoing basis
This process includes:
• Assessing risk in the provision of services
• Reviewing labour practices and employment standards
• Requiring suppliers to meet our ethical expectations
We expect suppliers to confirm that:
• They do not use forced, compulsory, or slave labour
• Employees work voluntarily and may leave employment freely
• Employment terms are fair, transparent, and documented
• Workers are not required to surrender personal documents
RISK ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT
We recognise that modern slavery risks may be present within the logistics and transport sector, particularly within extended global supply chains.
To manage this, we:
• Evaluate supplier risks during onboarding
• Monitor supplier compliance where appropriate
• Take action where standards are not met
TRAINING AND AWARENESS
We’re committed to raising awareness of modern slavery across the organisation.
This includes:
• Communicating our zero-tolerance approach
• Educating employees on recognising potential risks
• Providing guidance on reporting concerns
REPORTING CONCERNS
Employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any concerns relating to modern slavery.
Reports can be made through:
• Management channels
• Formal whistleblowing procedures
All reports are treated confidentially, and no individual will suffer retaliation for raising concerns.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
We’re committed to continually improving our approach to identifying and managing modern slavery risks.
We will review this statement annually and update it to reflect any changes in our operations or risk profile.
